| i work in a web department in a university. i dont maintain every website for the university, only ones under a certain domain. the other day i get this email from someone, all it says is: ""the links for Health & Wellness state "Page not Found"". as i'm sure you can imagine, there are probably links to the health and wellness page from many many many different sources. so i write the person back "Hi, can you give me a bit more details than that? i dont know what links you are talking about...thanks" i get back "On page 2 of Unit four we are advised to access UBC's "Health & Wellness" website and it says to "click here to go to the "Contents" page. Also it says to "Click here" for the pdf file." me being a litte irritable (ok, QUITE irritable) responds "sorry, page 2 of unit 4 of what? please tell me exactly where you are coming from, it is a book? another website? a pdf? i will try and get the links updated if i know where they are..." i get this back "It's page two of unit four of the internet notes for Psyc 314". do people really think that people in web departments know about every publication, every brochure, every website, everyTHING at a university? cant people just play nice and send a link to what they were looking at? i mean, considering i've asked over and over again for this person to tell me what the hell they are talking about, you'd think that it would at one point click in and they would send me to whatever they are looking at. i mean, my fucking god dude, send me the goddamn link already. fuck sakes. |
